Bringing it all together for Groovity

Groovity started as a single lo-fi playlist by a talented music producer and curator. With our help, it grew into a multi-genre music brand spanning 5 playlist genres, nearly 7,000 Instagram followers, 50K+ Spotify followers, and 2 sold-out live events - turning a passion project into a real business with multiple income streams.

The Challenge

The objective we were given was deceptively simple:

"In 3 months, grow the biggest Groovity Spotify playlist to 1,000 followers"

We smashed through the initial goal in only a month and a half, giving our client the reach and confidence needed to start accepting paid submissions through SubmitHub, turning his playlists into a viable income stream. From there, the project expanded into new genres - chill house, indie & alternative, afrohouse, and dance pop - growing to 50,000+ total Spotify followers and nearly 7,000 Instagram followers. Two sold-out live events later, Groovity is now a full music brand.

How We Got It Done

We decided to go above and beyond and add a secondary objective: gathering a fanbase that would resonate with the Groovity brand and stick with it through different changes and expansions - new platforms, merchandise, live events. This required a uniform presentation across all channels.

Before creating any content, we needed to look at the Lo-Fi genre and identify the traits and imagery associated with it. Our research revealed four key aesthetic pillars: nostalgia for the early 2000s, anime aesthetic, cozy/natural slow living, and background music culture.

Paid Meta Ads

We designed high-impact campaigns with hand-crafted creatives, targeted specifically to people with the highest probability of converting into playlist followers. The ads maximized synergy with our organic growth strategy on Instagram.

Organic Instagram Growth

We took the genre's imagery and created posts with the aim of growing organically through shares and the algorithm. Three posts achieved the 4 million views milestone and went viral in the more mainstream parts of Instagram.

Brand Identity

The key component of the new identity was a logo which showcased the creativity and professionalism that Groovity wishes to provide to their community. We developed a complete visual system including social media templates, ad creatives, playlist artwork, and event promotional materials - all tied together by a cohesive brand language rooted in the Lo-Fi aesthetic.

Genre Expansion

What started as a single lo-fi playlist quickly expanded into a multi-genre portfolio. We helped build and grow playlists across chill house, lo-fi beats, indie & alternative, afrohouse, and dance pop - reaching over 50,000 total Spotify followers across all playlists.

From Online to On-Stage

The ultimate proof that a digital brand has real resonance: people show up in person. Groovity hosted two sold-out live events - "LoFi Nights" at Samsara Teahouse and "Grooves 'N' Brews" at Galop Coffee Shop - each with custom branding, poster design, and promotional materials we created.

Where Groovity Is Now

What started as a single lo-fi playlist has expanded into a multi-genre music brand spanning chill house, lo-fi beats, indie & alternative, afrohouse, and dance pop - with over 50,000 total Spotify followers across all playlists.

Groovity has hosted 2 sold-out live events, bringing the online community into physical venues. The brand continues to grow - signing and promoting independent artists, expanding into new genres, and building a label that started as a passion project and became a real business. We continue to provide social media promotion, branding, and event materials for everything under the Groovity umbrella.
